conductor - Laura Štoma

Laura Štoma (1995) graduated from Riga Cathedral Choir School in 2015, where she studied at the departments of singing and choral conducting, being also a member of the Riga Cathedral Girls’ Choir for seven years. She has travelled abroad and participated in several competitions and festivals with this choir, as well as the Mixed Choir of Riga Cathedral Choir School.

Laura has participated in many concerts and competitions, not only as a member of the choir but also as a solo singer. In 2013 she successfully participated in Latvia Young Talent contest for Theodor Reiter prize, winning the I place award, and received the Annual Award of the Riga Cathedral Choir School for achievements in singing competitions. She has also participated in various other musical projects like acting and singing in a theatre spectacle for children in Sigulda Opera Festival. As a choir singer she has also collaborated with the Latvian Radio Choir and the State Choir “Latvija”. As of 2013, Laura is a singer in Mixed choir “Sōla” of the Latvian Academy of Culture. In the summer of 2015 Laura was a member of Tenso Europe Chamber Choir and in 2017 took a part in Europa Choir Akademie. From 2015 till 2017 Laura conducted Mixed Choir “Mozaīka”. Since 2015 she works as the vocal coach for children ensemble “Knīpas un Knauķi”.


Presently, Laura is continuing her master studies in choral conducting at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music.
