Artūrs Oskars Mitrevics (1998) started his music career at the age of 7, entering the Riga Cathedral Choir School. Presently he still continues his studies at the school, mastering his choral conducting skills in Mārtiņš Klišāns class.

Artūrs’ first musical achievements include 1st place and the Grand Prix at the international young piano-player competition in France, 2013, followed by successful participation in competitions in Latvia. Some of the most recent achievements include the 2nd place at the International Jānis Norvilis Young Pianist Competition in 2016 and 2017.

Starting to study choral conducting, Artūrs is successful in conducting competitions as well – 1st place at the state competition IP Diriģēšana, as well as the 2nd place at the Imants Kokars 2nd International Competition for Young Choir Conductors.

Artūrs gains his first real-life experience in working with the Riga Cathedral Boys Choir and the Mixed Choir of the Riga Cathedral Choir School. He has performed the tasks of the chorus master in St. John’s Church choir and mixed choirs Dziesmuvara and Burtnieks.

In 2017 Artūrs performed the functions of the chief conductor assistant for the production of Franz Schubert’s Stabat Mater with the Emīls Dārziņš Music School Symphony Orchestra and Mixed Choir of the Riga Cathedral Choir School, as well as worked with the youth symphonic orchestra at the creative camp in Raiskums.

In addition to his achievements in music, Artūrs excels in mathematics and physics, attested by his successes in  national mathematical and physics olympiads.

In 2013 and 2015 Artūrs was presented the Annual award of the Riga Cathedral Choir School for his achievements in music and studies.

Artūrs is also fond of various sports activities and high quality literature.
