The Choir “Sõla” at the Rīga Cathedral

After a fun and loud start to the year, “Sõla”, the mixed choir of the Latvian Academy of Culture, invites listeners to the quieter, more reflective concert Pater Noster on March 16 at 7 PM at the Rīga Cathedral.

Kaspars Ādamsons, the artistic of the choir: “The concert is planned as a collective prayer, with which we will try to emotionally prepare not just ourselves, but listeners as well, for the approaching Easter time. The foundation of the concert is works by Latvian composers, including Latvian classics – works by Jāzeps Vītols, who celebrates his 150th birthday this year. Listeners will also be able to hear sacred choral works by Arvo Pärt, Vytautas Miškinis, Knut Nystedt, and Anton Bruckner.”

“Sõla” returns to the Rīga Cathedral after a successful collaboration last year, when the choir, together with organist Inese Paiča and the early vocal music ensemble Modus Vivendi, gave a concert in the Cathedral in the evening of Good Friday.

Tickets can be purchased at the Rīga Cathedral ticket counter.
