After the spectacular summer event – participation at the choir music festival in Autun (France) with three solo concerts and the gala concert performing the Great Mass in C by W. A. Mozart together with the other festival participants – choir "Sōla" has resumed an active rehearsal season.
After the audition for singers in the middle of September, "Sōla" welcomed several new members, thus gaining some reinforcement.

To start the season with, “Sōla” will be performing in Amata in October – to celebrate the 105th anniversary of Latvian writer Melānija Vanaga. In its turn, on November 11th "Sōla" and choir “Austrums” will celebrate the 135th anniversary of Latvian composer Emīls Dārziņš, performing all of his choir songs.

To make life more interesting, "Sōla" has agreed to participate in a cooperation project with “Delta Ensemble” – a musician's ensemble from France (http://www.deltaensemble.org/). The Project envisages staging of contemporary opera "Les Esprits de Garonne". The premiere of the opera is planned for 2011. The project includes not only excellent French musicians, but also director Baņuta Rubess, soloist Ivars Cinkuss and choir “Sōla” from Latvia. The first Riga master class is planned to be held in November, this year.

For December choir “Sōla” has been invited to join concert organisation "Latvijas koncerti" in its project "Ziemassvētku zvaigzne". Thus, "Sōla" will perform at the Riga Cathedral, accompanying Annija Putniņa, Andris Ērglis, the Riga Cathedral organ and other musical instruments.

To conclude, choir "Sola" will celebrate its own anniversary in the second part of December – this time the 12th season already!
